Three Minute Squiz with
Anna Pykett
Anna is a podcast host on the Squiz Today, and one of the team who writes and produces the daily newsletter. Social butterfly. Clothes enthusiast. Brings the fun to meetings.

How and where do you Squiz?
I record the pod at ouch o'clock, before the sun comes up, from my spare room in Maroubra in Sydney's eastern suburbs - then I head into Squiz HQ.
What keeps you busy?
The unpredictable but ever-fascinating news agenda, mostly. Every morning once the pod and newsletter are published, I head out for a little run/stroll/swim, and I volunteer with the Red Cross at a local aged care home every week. I'm also planning my wedding at the moment, which is a world of spreadsheet heaven and hell.
What do you like to do in your downtime?
I'm a keen baker with a huge sweet tooth, and a fair-weather runner who's somehow done a few marathons. I'm obsessed with cycle-spirit class, which is spin class and aerobics at the same time, and I love reformer pilates too. I'm also a huge music fan and love putting together eclectic playlists for every mood and season - I used to be a big music festival girly, back when I stayed up past 8pm.
Give us 4 people (living or dead) at your ultimate dinner party
Adele, David Attenborough, Liam Gallagher, and either Count Binface or RuPaul - I can't choose.
What's something you've seen/read/listened to recently that you'd recommend?
Legends on Netflix is the best thing I've watched since Line of Duty. And the song 'Agape' by Nicholas Britell - it's not new, but it's so beautiful.
What's been in your social feeds lately?
So much wedding spam, plus some excellent Erling Haaland content.
What do you consider to be an overrated virtue?
Automatically saying sorry when someone walks into you in public. I do it every single time, and I have no idea why.
And an underrated one?
Smiling at and talking to strangers - you might just make their day. Also, sending handwritten cards and notes.
What would you say is the most overlooked news story Aussies should pay attention to?
Issues around women's health.
What's one thing you would tell your younger self?
Don't worry so much about what other people think - your crazy is actually pretty cool.
